Rishav Raj

Full-stack engineer — Next.js + TypeScript in production, Python under the hood — retooling into AI engineering: RAG pipelines, tool-using agents, and evals that block a bad PR before it merges.

I started in mechanical engineering at BIT Mesra and taught myself to code in my first year. The plan was never "frontend" or "backend" — it was ship things that work.

Three years later that has meant React frontends, Python services, data pipelines over 2M+ records, and an AI engine that quietly does the boring half of a triage team's job. Now I'm going deep on AI engineering — building in public, with the numbers to show for it.

fin-research-agent

AI research assistant over SEC filings. Ask which company grew revenue fastest after its 2023 acquisition — get a cited answer, or an honest "the filings don't say." Hybrid BM25 + pgvector retrieval measured with recall@k/MRR, a raw no-framework agent loop, and golden-set evals gating CI.

YourSpeakReps

Mock interviews that run 100% on my Mac — speaks questions out loud, listens to spoken answers, coaches with a score /10, filler-word counter and STAR feedback. Ollama + faster-whisper on-device: ₹0 per session, offline. The server runs the interview; the LLM only converses.

Software Development Engineer II (SDE-2) · Virohan Pvt. Ltd.

Aug 2023 – Present · Gurgaon, India
  • Built an AI feedback engine that classifies, summarizes and routes feedback to the right owner — auto-closes 40% of cases, cutting manual triage by 60%.
  • Reworked payment processing spread across order, confirmation and recording flows into one service with a single source of truth for payment state.
  • Fixed reporting and data-pipeline issues by validating queries and correcting SQL transformations across 2M+ records.
  • Built and maintain backend services and APIs with Python, FastAPI, Flask, PostgreSQL, AWS and Azure; debug production issues across APIs, databases, queues and telemetry.

Measure, then ship

Every retrieval or prompt change runs the evals. Numbers over vibes.

02

No framework magic in the core loop

If I can't explain a line in an interview, it doesn't ship.

03

Boring code, interesting products

In that order. The next engineer should thank me, not decode me.
